We are flipping over the news that Mike and Ralph Riccio have joined our team!
Family and community have been an essential part of Mike’s and Ralph’s life since childhood. They learned about community and running a successful business from their father. As children, they helped in the community by shoveling sidewalks for other store owners and volunteering in their church. This early commitment to the community has followed Mike and Ralph throughout their lives. Ralph says, “that [this] ultimately led me to a career in the nonprofit sector where I’m most proud of leading multiple teams that generated more than $1.5 billion in fundraising revenue for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and JDRF.” In addition to raising billions of dollars in charity fundraising, Ralph has extensive experience as a team leader in local offices and with remote and geographically dispersed teams throughout the United States.
With a realization of the migration of people leaving Connecticut, Mike and Ralph are very passionate about keeping people in the state. To do that, the brothers began rehabbing properties along the shoreline and throughout Central Connecticut. The Riccio brothers are committed to building a better Connecticut.
Mike is known for his rehab projects on the shoreline called “The House That Social Media Built.” His interactive approach engaged Facebook followers, and viewers of Fox 61 to make the design selections for the seven rehabbed houses by voting for their favorites each week. Mike has taken houses with good bones, but in desperate need of repair, back to their studs and reconfigured the layouts to be in line with current trends. Professional staging and decorating completed the homes before they were re-marketed for sale.
Mike has owned and operated Rebuilt Homes, LLC, for the last ten years. The company has become one of the largest single-family home flipping companies in the State of Connecticut. In his career, Mike has restored over 400 homes, changing the face of the shoreline and central Connecticut real estate market.
For over 30 years, Mike has been working in the real estate business in some aspect or another. In 1989 he started in commercial sales and went on to own several real estate investment companies. Mike and his wife, Tina, own and manage a portfolio of income properties that include commercial use properties, residential apartments, and a Vermont hotel. Mike has also been a Real Estate Appraiser in Connecticut.
Ralph is a licensed agent in Florida and recently earned his Real Estate license in Connecticut. An experienced, trained leadership executive coach to large and small groups of people, Ralph is ready to take his career to the next level here at Calcagni.
