ACES is a school for socially and emotionally disturbed students who have been outplaced from their district schools. Many ACES students participate in the school’s Kindness Committee, which performs acts of kindness and community service projects. Three years ago, the Kindness Committee started collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Any type of can tab is welcome, as the tabs are worth more than the cans themselves.
The aluminum tabs are sold to a local recycling company. Proceeds help the Ronald McDonald House with daily operating expenses, allowing them to continue their mission to feed, clothe, and shelter families in need. The Ronald McDonald House averages $1,000 monthly just from these tiny tabs, which equates to over THREE MILLION TABS RECEIVED A MONTH!
The Calcagni Team would like to help ACES’ Kindness Committee collect can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, and we are asking our friends, clients, and neighbors to join the effort. All five Calcagni offices (Cheshire, Guilford, North Haven, Southington and Wallingford) will have a five-gallon water jug at the front desk for can tab drop-offs, and you are welcome to stop in with your aluminum offerings any time.
If you have any skills in the art of visualization, please picture a five-gallon water jug. Now picture five of them. And now picture a lightweight, miniscule, easily-forgotten can tab. We’ll do our best to feed our agents baked beans, Campbell’s soup, and carbonated drinks for the next few weeks, but your supplemental help would be avidly appreciated by ACES, Ronald, and the waistlines of our agents!
